CVE-2026-32282 2 Go Standard Library, Golang 2 Internal/syscall/unix, Go 2026-04-17 6.4 Medium
On Linux, if the target of Root.Chmod is replaced with a symlink while the chmod operation is in progress, Chmod can operate on the target of the symlink, even when the target lies outside the root. The Linux fchmodat syscall silently ignores the AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW flag, which Root.Chmod uses to avoid symlink traversal. Root.Chmod checks its target before acting and returns an error if the target is a symlink lying outside the root, so the impact is limited to cases where the target is replaced with a symlink between the check and operation.
CVE-2026-25906 1 Dell 1 Optimizer 2026-04-16 7.3 High
Dell Optimizer, versions prior to 6.3.1, contain an Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of Privileges.
CVE-2026-27905 1 Bentoml 1 Bentoml 2026-04-16 7.8 High
BentoML is a Python library for building online serving systems optimized for AI apps and model inference. Prior to 1.4.36, the safe_extract_tarfile() function validates that each tar member's path is within the destination directory, but for symlink members it only validates the symlink's own path, not the symlink's target. An attacker can create a malicious bento/model tar file containing a symlink pointing outside the extraction directory, followed by a regular file that writes through the symlink, achieving arbitrary file write on the host filesystem. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.36.
CVE-2026-26196 1 Gogs 1 Gogs 2026-04-16 5.3 Medium
Gogs is an open source self-hosted Git service. Prior to version 0.14.2, gogs api still accepts tokens in url params like token and access_token, which can leak through logs, browser history, and referrers. This issue has been patched in version 0.14.2.
CVE-2026-29786 1 Isaacs 1 Tar 2026-04-16 6.3 Medium
node-tar is a full-featured Tar for Node.js. Prior to version 7.5.10, tar can be tricked into creating a hardlink that points outside the extraction directory by using a drive-relative link target such as C:../target.txt, which enables file overwrite outside cwd during normal tar.x() extraction. This issue has been patched in version 7.5.10.
CVE-2026-28689 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-04-16 6.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 7.1.2-16 and 6.9.13-41, domain="path" authorization is checked before final file open/use. A symlink swap between check-time and use-time bypasses policy-denied read/write. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.1.2-16 and 6.9.13-41.
CVE-2026-20810 1 Microsoft 6 Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2, Windows 10 21h2 and 3 more 2026-04-16 7.8 High
Free of memory not on the heap in Windows Ancillary Function Driver for WinSock allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-20941 1 Microsoft 5 Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 25h2 and 2 more 2026-04-16 7.8 High
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Host Process for Windows Tasks allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-26225 1 Intego 1 Personal Backup 2026-04-16 N/A
Intego Personal Backup, a macOS backup utility that allows users to create scheduled backups and bootable system clones, contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability. Backup task definitions are stored in a location writable by non-privileged users while being processed with elevated privileges. By crafting a malicious serialized task file, a local attacker can trigger arbitrary file writes to sensitive system locations, leading to privilege escalation to root.
CVE-2005-1916 2 Debian, Ekg Project 2 Debian Linux, Ekg 2026-04-16 5.5 Medium
linki.py in ekg 2005-06-05 and earlier allows local users to overwrite or create arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files.
CVE-2005-2527 1 Sun 1 Java 2026-04-16 N/A
Race condition in Java 1.4.2 before 1.4.2 Release 2 on Apple Mac OS X allows local users to corrupt files or create arbitrary files via unspecified attack vectors related to a temporary directory, possibly due to a symlink attack.
CVE-2005-2714 1 Apple 2 Mac Os X, Mac Os X Server 2026-04-16 N/A
passwd in Directory Services in Mac OS X 10.3.x before 10.3.9 and 10.4.x before 10.4.5 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the .pwtmp.[PID] temporary file.
CVE-2005-3349 1 Gnu 1 Gnump3d 2026-04-16 N/A
GNU Gnump3d before 2.9.8 allows local users to modify or delete arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the index.lok temporary file.
CVE-2003-1233 1 Pedestalsoftware 1 Integrity Protection Driver 2026-04-16 9.8 Critical
Pedestal Software Integrity Protection Driver (IPD) 1.3 and earlier allows privileged attackers, such as rootkits, to bypass file access restrictions to the Windows kernel by using the NtCreateSymbolicLinkObject function to create a symbolic link to (1) \Device\PhysicalMemory or (2) to a drive letter using the subst command.
